“Money becomes a moot point when you’re surrounded by the right people,” is an interesting take by the CEO of Beeleads and today’s guest on Entrepreneur Stories. Not only an interesting take, but one that can be difficult to believe in and implement, but will help you immensely when you do.
Danny Sachdev, the guest in question, has plenty more nuggets of entrepreneurial gold to share, from the known facts (like the importance of cash flow) to more niche knowledge (like the significance of data privacy). Learn more about Beeleads and their leader with us below!
What are three things every Entrepreneur should know?
The three things that Danny believes every entrepreneur should know before starting a business begin with having a deep understanding of the logistics of the business or industry you want to go into. Successful entrepreneurship is about more than simply taking an idea, turning it into a product, and beginning to sell it.
There is a myriad of other processes to follow and skills to acquire (or “nitty gritty” as Danny put it) in order to successfully run a business when entering into any industry.
Number two on Danny’s list involves any kind of data privacy legality. Things like insurance and trademarks that you’ll need to protect your business from anyone trying to do what you do, or put online data in jeopardy – that’s very basic, but incredibly necessary as a business owner in this day and age.
The third thing that Danny mentioned is one that we’ve heard a few times over in our Entrepreneur Stories series, however, that simply increases its validity, rather than invalidates it. Of course, we’re talking about the idea that cash flow is key.
This ties into Danny’s first point about the nitty gritty of business that needs to be understood. Cash flow, which falls under the bracket of accounting, is the lifeblood of your business. Knowing how to both save and spend it wisely is paramount to success.
What problem does your business solve and who are its customers?
Danny Sachdev’s business, Beeleads, is a B2B company in the RevOps space. They aim to help their customers generate revenue. These days, their potential customer will go to a media agency that then implements various marketing and sales tools.
These businesses need to make sure all the tools are working in collaboration with each other. Then come frequent updates and tools that need to be fixed. This plan of action requires a lot of technical expertise by the businesses making use of it. Never mind the fact that all of these tools are simply byproducts: things that didn’t exist in previous tools.
Danny further explained that someone will build a new tool and then their customers have to integrate it, and so forth. This is a very technical and tedious process for businesses to follow. Beeleads simplifies a business’ ability to generate revenue with one single tool that does everything the tools and processes of other marketing agencies do.
Beeleads intends to be industry and size-agnostic. However, from a revenue perspective in the interview, Danny mentioned working with enterprise tech lines, and customers like Twilio and Bamboo whom they sell software to, with about 200 million dollars in revenue.
What inspired you to become an Entrepreneur?
Danny likened entrepreneurship to deciding to hike in the Himalayas: You know it’s going to be difficult, a lot of people may not want you to do it, but that adrenaline rush you get from making things happen and doing something risky makes it worth it for Danny.
Being an entrepreneur for him was also a thing of noticing that working for people didn’t allow him to progress the way he wanted to. As an entrepreneur, he gets to make decisions for himself without having to consult a million people along the way about every move he makes within the business.
Would you do it again?
Absolutely! Danny would become an entrepreneur again. He went so far as to say that he wouldn’t change a thing about his journey because everything that he’s done or experienced has led him to the next achievement or milestone or experience.
What would you have done with a million-dollar investment when you first started your business?
Danny was completely honest with us with the million-dollar question and mentioned that he would have blown a million-dollar investment on stupid things had he had it when he first started.
However, knowing what he knows now, he believes that entrepreneurship is about more than money. It’s about creating a community of people that you can both trust and work with. Once you’re surrounded by successful people in the industry, they can help you figure out the cost side of things.
Money becomes a moot point when you’re surrounded by the right people.
What is your proudest accomplishment as an Entrepreneur?
Danny’s proudest accomplishment as an entrepreneur was difficult for him to pinpoint. Of course, he’s had accomplishments already, particularly with his previous company, which was purchased and is now about an 8 billion dollar company. That product was Danny’s vision.
With Beeleads, seeing the impact that his last product had, he decided to go full-steam ahead and see what he’s truly capable of achieving. That’s what motivates him, however, he was unsure whether or not to label this as an “accomplishment.”
We certainly believe that it’s an accomplishment of note, and we said as much to him in our interview!
What big goals are you looking to achieve?
Currently, Danny is focused on a significant digital transformation within his business. Most of their offerings are primarily service-based. He would like to shift away from this with the development of user-friendly digital products.
The core challenge he is addressing is building trust in these digital solutions. Danny drew parallels to the initial hesitancy people had with platforms like Amazon and food delivery services like Doordash and Uber Eats. His goal is to overcome these trust barriers by creating technology that users can confidently rely on.
Danny also recognizes a growing preference among people for technology-driven solutions over human interaction and he aims to cater to this evolving preference by providing efficient tools and services that allow users to accomplish tasks independently.
